Mine was for "not riding in a marked lane" I call it getting home 20 minutes quicker! Even with being pulled over I still reckon I was home sooner than if I didn't do it.. $88 and no points lost.
Surprisingly the cop was not too bad about it all, I was going about as fast as a bobber can go, I crossed a couple painted Island things and my indicators were not working. It was a good thing he had no idea wtf a Hunter was and asked if it's all as it came from the factory.. I said of course it is sir.
what was your first motorcycle related infringement ?

In NSW as of July 1st motorcycle riders are allowed to lane filter and other such things. Should read up the rules to be exact of what they are but is a big step for bike riders!
I myself haven't had any issues on the road, but in saying that I only ride my bike for leisure and not to and from work so im never in a real rush to go anywhere.

When I first started riding 20 something years ago, there were no cool bikes like Hunters to ride. No LAMS laws, just straight up, 250cc or under. Not much choice.... Anyway, being the fine upstanding law abiding young lady that I am, I got myself a Triumph 750 Bonneville as a first bike. I was working in a British Bike shop at the time, and was pretty much British bike mad. (Still love them) I rode to work and back every day, and jumped on my Bonnie as many times a day as I could to do pickups and deliveries. If I could strap it to my bike, I was riding there! If not, it was the crusty old ute.... Anyway, back to my first ticket.... It was the weekend before my license went from "restricted" to 250cc to "open", allowed to ride anything. I'd gotten away with riding a too big bike for a whole year ( if I remember correctly, you were on 250 license for 12 months). There was a wedding that weekend, and I was riding to meet a bunch of mates to meet up to ride to the ceremony. On the way, I got pulled over. I hadn't done anything wrong, I'd indicated my turn (with my hand, no indicators needed on that bike) and done everything right. I think the cops just wanted to check out the chick on the Trumpy. Or maybe they were just arseholes. Yeah, pretty sure they were just arseholes. Their reason for stopping me? I was sitting on my bike crooked. More like they were looking through crooked eyes! Well, it was in Qld in the early 90's, they hated bikers up there then almost as much as they do now. Soooooo, they pinged me for riding a 750 on a 250 license, said I'd get a ticket in the mail, and insisted they follow me to where I was going, and told me NOT, under any circumstances, to ride that bike anywhere else. "No worries" says me, and off they fucked. Well, I had a wedding to go to, and a bunch of mates to ride there with, so I quickly threw a jacket on over what I was wearing (it was a red top, my memory isn't that bad yet!) and got someone's Mrs to jump on the back.....that was my disguise, of course. And.......off we went, about 15 or so bikes. We get up the road, round a few corners, onto a big long straight, and lo and behold, here's the same bloody coppers on the side of the road with some other poor sucker pulled over. Shit and bloody damn! I just tried to blend in with the pack, and thought I did a good job. Had my fingers crossed they didn't see me. On the Monday, my time was up and I went and got my open license and forgot about my double encounter with the cops on the weekend. Well, I must've moved or something, and somehow didn't get any fines in the mail. Life went on.... About 6 months later, 2 cops walk into the bike shop looking for me, armed with an arrest warrant for 2 (that's right, TWO, those buggers saw me all right!) unpaid fines for riding out of my class! Yep, my invisible shield failed me that weekend. Hmmmmm, borrow 500 odd dollars from work, paid those warrants , and that's the end of the story. I'm just lucky they hadn't processed those fines before I got my open license. They didn't have all that info at the click of a button, like they do now. So, my first ticket was actually 2 tickets, and I thought I'd gotten away with it, but nah, I didn't, lol
