Hey there all I will soon be getting a Bobber that has been sitting for a few years. It's present owner doesn't ride at all and was given the bike in lieu of some work done. In Turn, I'm getting it in exchange for one of my paintings, but I do ride. The bike has some custom paint work which he loves, but I'm not fussed about, so he is going to keep the (leaky) tank and battery box. So this gives room to PLAY!!! May I ask some advice here? The most pressing thang is the tank.. I've read somewhere on this forum, that someone put a 20lt Sportster tank on and that it only meant drilling some new bolt holes, and a bit of jiggling with the Sportster pump. Does anyone know about that?? The other changes can come later, once the thing is given the roadworthy.. Do you lose much take of speed with the 30 tooth cog? Does a thicker chain help? Oh yeah.. That exhaust system looks kinda restrictive! My other bike is a 1987 Yamaha FZX 750. Many thanks for your help!
