I have edited this down as i think im a nob,
My prejudices, are to the Spyder 2007 2008 Carby models . Yours may be for a different model of
Hunter
The Spyder Design has some thing intrinsically, attractive about it, practical , and retro
Regarding the 250 350 motors, They look like a bigger cc bikes.
Attractive looks in the Spyder , may be part of the golden formula ratio of length to height, in that its nearer to
the attractive ratio, hard wired biologically . A design element /ratio of a rectangle being more attractive than a square
Compared to main stream bike models,
Harley and Hyosung etc, there not like full size bikes to my eye .Yes good looking sparkling chrome designs, but I kind of think, too short in
length, Then a image, comes to mind, more like a monkey bike from a circus act, Designed for
smaller framed Asians, who may be the biggest market in unit numbers for manufacturers of bikes, worked out by
slide rule accountants, Not for the design needs of over weight 6 ft Beer Belly, past there prime males.
who watched The original Easy Rider at the pictures as long haired cool 16 year olds
So example off what im raving about, in this long winded blurb
2007 and 2008, Hunter Spyders, have a hole in the air filter just below the filter box breather inlet.
The filter box is slanted, back towards this hole, assuming so oil , can drip out, a gravity tilt., if it
was always standing still, not in motion
May be the air filter could have a Silicon Silastic bead line in side, So any oil would dam above , the
drip hole. A tube, running back to the chain , could be installed, Working as an oilier for
the chain
The petrol tank could have a foam mat, in the tank tunnels, use expansion gap spacer foam matting from building trade, goes in wall brick expansion gaps
, window frames, and air conditioning plants, its dirt cheap.
Make a hole in foam, for the breather pipe under tank, and for hole for the wiring to dash and speedo cable.
Next All of the wiring which is exposed under tank, example connection joiners, wrapped with a piece of leather and held with ties, Preventing contact with any
leaks in tank ,and breather hole. So less rubbing /vibrations of the tank, the frame and wiring.
/oil /petrol, to the cabling under the bike., on the frame . Suggestion stainless steel fuel tubing, not that
expensive if bought progressively, put wires inside, soldering skills required., or just garden
hose, as an outer shell, cheaper but not as good in looks, as stainless
Suggestion the Kick Stand Switch, and wiring A site for black wire problem, intermittent
mystery problems from oil ,water and grit and impacts, suggestions , on skirting and stopping , oil water to the centre rod,
debri wears the nylon plates and spring inside
Under the bike area is a good location to re enforce wiring with shielding, by putting wires
inside a tube Example a sliced garden hose or house ellec/wire conduit, put wiring in and black tape/ re wrapped , or
stainless fuel metal tubing just for looks and protection
The chain is very close to ignition bits, may be a plastic skirt, again used in building industry cheap , it may have to have a light weight rib
made plastic or wire to hang from.
The chain tensioner on the 2008, needs a redesign, moving the poly rub wheel further back, away from bits like the bolt holder bracket for the side cover,
and extra strong springs.
The width of the wheel much wider and plastic extra hard 94
The side cover lower rear bolt, is hard to reach due to the exhaust pipe, may be needs a wing nut , proud of the chain side cover
The swing arm bolt needs a round rub block due to slaps from the chain, which can be screwed on and off for easy replacement
Thats my three cents worth im a nob, criticism wanted and creative ideas on model redundancy and best
improvements., welcomed, from members who know better than me ,

but what ever the Hunter Spyder is an eye catcher, But needs second fixing, like Harleys, BSA, AJS , Nortons , bikes for hands on plebs
I have found difference in the other Spyder the same year , which I have, which means that
from the start Hunters have been upgrading the product in production and with each model
My rave may only be regarding the model i have 2007/2008, as models have been upgraded.
