Might be a silly question but I was curious as to what effect modifications have on the warranty.
I have a 2 month old Hunter Spyder 350 and therefore still has tonnes of warranty left. Is the warranty given by Mavericks who I bought the bike from or a manufacturer warranty so through Hunter motorcycles? As a result if I was to change the muffler, put a pod filter on or changed the sprocket on the bike will this effect the warranty?

RohanIm not 100% sure regarding warranty with modding i would imagine upgrading to the parts that hunter sells on the website wouldn't void the warrenty i could be wrong perhaps Benno would be better at answering this. there is a new official hunter service center opening up on the 19th of april will post more details on this realy soon. so you can get your motorcycle serviced there instead of taking it all the way to mavarick.

Make sure you ask for each individual mod too as I was speaking to a guy yesterday that had a warranty claim denied as "he had modified the bike" all he had done was install a cigarette lighter socket so he could charge his phone. If your serious about your warranty get it in writing and always have your bike serviced by an authorised tech and don't touch the bike yourself.. Warranties are like a poker game where you don't get as many cards as the manufacturer.. Saying that... Just ask Ben he's a nice guy! Helped me out when I had trouble with my bike

If one of our dealers does the mods and uses our parts its still covered under our manufacturers warranty. That being said we look at each case on its own merits and take a common sense approach. If you modified your own wiring and put in a claim for an electrical problem that may have been caused as a result, the dealer will knock it back. However if you change your own pipes and your horn stops working, its quite obviously still warranty as far as we're concerned. One thing to bear in mind is that as soon as a motorcycle gets dropped, of any brand at all, it is no longer covered by manufacturers warranty. Keep it rubber side to the road guys.

Thanks for the insight. I basically just wanted to do some minor mods and that's about it. At least for now, so should be covered under warranty without an issue.
