Hey guys,
I'm new to the forums here so let me first say Hi to everyone
I've just got my hands on my first bike, being a used '09 Spyder and have been checking out the massive range of custom bike parts available at places like MCA and various web based stores. There's a load of stuff to choose from that'll make my already sexy ride even hotter, but being my first bike and the lack of discussion about these ones in particular across the net, i'm finding it difficult determining which parts will actually fit my bike.
Obviously I don't want to be buying up a bunch of custom mirrors, clutch/brake levers and footpegs and then finding they don't fit my ride, so I was wondering if anyone here can give me a rough guide as to which brands of custom parts would be best suited. Obviously there's always Hunter's own custom parts, though I can't seem to find much of anything in the way of the parts I've already mentioned I've looked for.
I have heard that Kuryakyn parts are, for the most part, universal and will fit any bike, and there are a few that I wouldn't mind having on my ride (flame motif mirrors would go great with the paint job), but as I said, don't want to go spending hundreds on this stuff if it won't even fit.
Any help pointing me in the right direction would be much appreciated

www.huntermotorcycles.com.au/index.php/hunter-models/accessoriesThats the hunter page with all their custom parts and accessories. Check that as those will definitely fit. For the most part Harley Davidson parts will fit on our bikes (if not only they can generally be fitted by changing a nut and bolt size). Not sure about other brands, perhaps someone else has tried and know they fit. It depends on how much you want to spend for parts. Some places like MCA are really expensive. If you want something like that perhaps find what your looking for from MCA and get the exact same part online. Will generally save you quite a bit. Also I suggest you pull the seat off the bike and see what's going on under there and get the hang of how they are put together. Once that's done its really easy (i've had my bike virtually in pieces several times and gets easier each time). Measure the size of the current parts you are going to be replacing and you have an idea of what size you need. That's about all the advice I can give you other than be prepared if you get a part from MCA or whatever for it not to fit (it may happen and upsetting when you go to put it on and it doesnt fit). Anyways welcome to the forum and hopefully someone else with a bit more knowledge can give you some more specific advice. Just thought perhaps you can post some links to what items you were thinking of getting as we could give you a more accurate answer then.

Thanks for the tips!
I was down at MCA to get a Bluetooth headset today (Bought the Scala Rider Q1) and was telling them what you'd said, however they'd never heard of Hunter motorcycles (typical) so they couldn't tell me either way about whether the parts they stock would fit or not.
The way I understood it though, the kind of custom parts I'm after are usually pretty universal in the way they fit so I shouldn't have trouble finding them. Mostly I just want to swap out the foot pegs, brake/clutch levers and perhaps the mirrors. I've posted some links below to some of the stuff I was looking at. I suppose online stores are another option, however with such expensive stuff i'm a little reluctant to go down that road as it's much harder to return them if they don't actually fit.

Stay away from the levers... I have some and definitely don't fit... Thanks for that, saves me a bunch of money. Checked out a few online stores for parts last night as well, but of course they all ask you to put in your bike model for fit and Hunter aren't listed.
