Hey all.
Anyone know whether the stock chain on Hunters is just a cheap and nasty that should pretty much be replaced right away? I'm asking because my chain needs frequent tightening. I don't mean the "every 500k" type of maintenance tightening either, I'm talking every 100K (so it's a weekly job). Usually, this means the chain is worn out and flogged, but it has only done a little under 2000km! That's WAY too little mileage out of a chain. I can leave it for about 250km if I want to put up with a bit of chain slap but not much more. At 500km it is dangerously slack. The chain was ok for it's first 750km's. Not so good after that. So... a shit quality chain that should be replaced already or should I look elsewhere for the cause.

It is very comon for the chains to become lose on these bikes, I personally have only tensioned my once and I'm at about 2500 km but I have herd a few people saying that they have to tighten in quite often. So might be a good idea to get a better qulity chain

It's a super long chain so needs more frequent tightening. Hey grot what year is your Bobber? The 2011 ones had a 520 chain. Best to go up to 530.

Thanks for the replies guys. It's a 2013 model Benno. A new 530 chain it is then.
