Hey guys I have a Hunter Spyder. I want to customise it and really want to make it my own. I have worked on cars for many years but this is my first try at a bike, and im learning as i go.
If you are working on your bike and have any questions please ask i probably ran into the same problem or might have an idea how its done.
I have just started working on my spyder I will post photos as i go, and describe what im doing and any problems i run into.

Ok so stripping is down is pretty simple
The seat was first two bolts on each end than just slide it out.
The rear fender has a few bolts which dont all have to come off, just the four that hold it to the frame, after which you flip it over and un bolt the stop light and indicators than slide the wiring off the hooks
The tank has the starter and speedo mounted on top, there are two small bolts that hold it together and also the rubber seal which is glued on to the tank so if you plan on putting it back together you will need some sort of glue to attach the rubber back to the tank, after you pop off the speedo console there will be a few plugs that clip in and out very simple. The tank is held on by three bolts that are easily taken off, dont forget to drain the fuel or close it off.
all up this part is pretty simple, i took my time with it just to see how everything is put together, and have a look if my plans for modification will work with the design of the bike.

I got the electrical box for the hunter bobber from Ben, so i can get all let electronics that are under the seat nicely tucked away.
the spyder is a little different to the bobber as i realised, after i put all the electronics to the side, took the battery out i realised that its not going to be a simple bolt on.
I had to take out the metal frame that was holding the battery and other bits, cut it and make it a flat surface, drill holes in it so i can mount the new box,
If i didnt have the flat surface from the old set up i was looking at a more complicated way to mount the box, possibly a few twisted L shape metal plates which would take some time.
as it is the box is sitting a little higher in the frame and i cant fit the dummy oil tank in because of it, so ill give it some thought still and possibly do something else if im not satisfied the way it turns out but for now ill leave it as it is.
Im still shopping for parts so i will keep updating as i do more on the bike

thanks man, basically spring seat, sportster tank, small rear feeder, z bars, custom exhaust, nice paint job, and a few bits and pieces that give it that old school look so hand/foot controls, lights etc

Yeah as we saw at the silverwater show it needed some work, but definitely looks like your well on your way! Ive had my bike stripped down several times and it's all a learning process but now I have the hang of it! Keep us updated as we would all love to see what your doing! As I remember your bike is a 250CC carby right? So slightly different from most of ours, in case people are wondering why things look a bit different!

OK so taking the handle bars off is straight forward,
first unbolt the hand controls and take off what you can, the throttle control will come off once you unbolt the raisers than just slide the handle bars out
than remove the raisers them self, there are plenty of videos on youtube if you get stuck.
