Hi guys hows it going, im new to the bike scene and have got a Hunter Spyder 250cc, 2009 Carby model
Im looking to upgrade the exhaust to give it a bit more grunt and power
can anybody recommend what would be the best for grunt and power -free flow complete set up -tapered turbo muffler black - turnout muffler
I got quoted $300 - $600 by mayhem cycles for a custom system depending on what i wanted to do thy seem like they know what are doing but a bit pricy for a learner bike
thanks

mayhem cycles in Sydney? They are good at custom jobs but charge a lot. Perhaps look into buying the muffler from Ben and then getting someone to install it for you. Might work out cheaper. If your in Sydney I know Vic-tri Chief in Hornsby would be glad to do it, so compare prices with them. Their number is on the forum somewhere.
The complete set may be the best, although more expensive. Otherwise the turnout mufflers sound quite good, at least Josh the admin's does on his daytona 350cc. I've posted a video on here of the fish tail mufflers on my spyder 350cc, so check that out and see if you like that sound as well.

Hey there frisco1970 i have the turnout pipes on mine with the stock headers i cant say how much they increased performance as i got them done when i first bought the bike but they do sound really nice. The best bang for buck performance upgrade you can do is the rear sprocket get the one that hunter sells on there website it is heaps cheaper then getting the exhaust done and you will definitely notice it straight away. I will be posting a video up in a few days of how to install it and before and after 0-100kph times. also being a carby model if you looking at performance upgrades you could look into getting bigger jets put in.

Hey
Thanks guys appreciate the info.
How much is the sprocket ? where could I get the bigger jets and how much are they?
Regarding the exhaust Ill have a look around and see what the best option is.
I will start a new post when I start upgrading the bike So people can get detailed info on how to and what can be done with these bikes Got some good ideas hoping to start in a month or so.

Put it under the modifications page, or post a pic in the spyder section and list your mods as you do them!
The sprocket is $59 I believe and can be ordered from the huntermotorcycles.com.au website if you go to the contact us section and put an enquiry in.

I've got a whole bunch of new mods coming in the mail from Hunter, so check the forums next week and I should have done a few of them. Will keep you updated on how they look/perform! Josh and I may do a video of a whole bunch of mods on my bike, if we get around to it.

Hey mate I've just bought a 2011 spyder 350 secondhand and I'm in Tasmania and there isn't a dealership here so I was wondering the best method/way to buy accessories for the bike.

Hey jono You can buy any hunter parts from the website just sent them an enquiry, a lot of harley parts will hit the bike but you might Wana go a little research first. Is there anything You Wana do straight away, I might be able to shed some light.

Cheers mate... Firstly I wanted to change the brake pads as the stock ones make a horrible sound and vibrate the hole bike when applying them. Also wanted a spike air filter or something of that style. Regards John.

Changing the pads to a softer pad will stop the noise so people have told me so that's a fairly easy change. Although I found my bike was doing that but after a while it must of wore them in and they don't make much noise at all anymore so I haven't been bothered to change them. Will just wait until these pads are worn out and then change them to the softer ones.
The spike air filter looks pretty cool but i've seen it stick out quite stupidly on some bikes. There was someone on this forum who posted a picture where it looked pretty good (I think from memory it was hunterlady). So keep that in mind when buying it, you may have to fiddle with it and add some sort of extension to get it to sit in the right position so it looks okay. They are also quite expensive from what i've seen and won't change the power in the bike much. In saying that if you like the look of it and want to pay that much money go for it! Alternatively try looking into getting a custom one made that looks similar to the spike and that will fill in some of the empty space under the tank (I will do this when I get a chance, haven't had time to do anything for my bike for a while now). Will probably look better and be around the same price.
I guess on those 2 points that's all the information I have. I would definitely recommend getting a 30 tooth sprocket as well. It's quite cheap, not too hard to fit yourself and makes a big difference in the power.
Also welcome to the forums!

Its a rear sprocket, slightly smaller so gives the bike a bit more pull. You can order it from the hunter motorcycles website. www.huntermotorcycles.com.auGo to the contact us section and enter your details and send them an enquiry saying you were interested in the sprocket and want to know how much it costs. I can't remember how much it was and it's not on the website anymore. They will reply (normally within a couple of hours but give them a day or two in case they are busy) and tell you how much and how to pay for it. I think from memory it was like $60 or so but definitely worth it.
