Hello team I asked this question awhile ago and was told you could not swap a bobber tank for another as it is pressurised after reading Grot's post re fuel leaking from the tube then a pressurised tank it is not? I want to fit a larger tank and wanted to know would a tank off a spyder or other hunter fit?

I don't think so. By the looks of it, they are completely different. I mean I guess you could make it fit but would be too much work, better off finding another brand that makes one similar to the bobbers.

When I bought my Bobber the dealer was telling me about a Bobber that they put a Daytona tank on, so yeah, it can be done.

Anything can be done if you really want to. It depends how hard it would be to do that and therefore cost. You should call the dealer where you bought it from (who did it before)and ask them how much it would cost and if they have any pictures of what it looks like. Then you have an idea to go off!

Two on one side, two on the other side, each running parallel to one another. Here is a pic for you. These two bolts are about 300 mm apart and the distance between them and the ones on the other side is somehwere around 90mm-100mm. Maybe you could take a photo of the mounts of the Daytona tank, Josh -Admin- , so that Chops can see how the Daytona tank matches up. Rohan The dealer that mentioned the swapping of the tanks made it sound like no big deal.

looks like the 2 back bolts could match up with the Daytona's tank mounts but the other tank mounts are on the front of the tank and bolt up to the frame right above the ignition switch i will post up some pics in the next half an hour or so.
not a direct bolt up but i think it would be eaiser to put the daytona tank on the bobber, then the other way around, as you could just drill and tap 2 holes for the 2 frount mounts of the bobber frame. (u will see in pics)
And on the Daytona looks like i would have to weld on a couple of mounting points for it to work.

My spyder tank must be different to the Daytona tank. I thought they were the same, but my frame runs through the middle of my tank. So technically my tank is in 2 sections, a left and right. Which is why I was thinking it wouldn't fit on the bobber frame (which I am most likely correct). If the Daytona tank is what Josh is saying, then yes, will most likely be fairly simple as creating new holes to bolt the front on.

Chops, your bike is efi, so you need a tank with an electric fuel pump. Tank itself is not pressurised, though fuel system is. You guys are right about swapping tanks. Daytona and Spyder are interchangeable. They will go on bobber frame with tapping out holes in cover plates. To fit bobber tank to our other models need to make front mount point.

Benno-Any thoughts about adding a bigger tank to the bobber mate? say around a 13-15 litre unit?

The bobber tank is actually 9 litres. It's good for about 180 kms normal riding.

I have put about a 20 litre tank on mine and it works a treat and looks 10 times better than the original. Attachments:
